Suzuki chairman Osamu Suzuki has expressed his reluctance to produce a micro sports car, describing minivehicles as “vehicles for the poor”.

Suzuki, who is also president of the major minivehicle maker, made the comment to reporters at the Tokyo show when asked to comment on micro sports cars displayed by Daihatsu and Honda, Jiji News reported.

On a government plan for a substantial rise in minivehicle tax, a municipal levy, Suzuki said the winner of this year’s buzzword contest should be “bullying the weak”.
